Submitted by Jules on January 12, 2008 – 9:48 amNo Comment

Fred Picton-Turbevill was shot in front of his family of five children and wife in his home in Pretoria. He died one hour later at the hospital. He was only 46 years old and came from Ewenny in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, but has lived in South Africa for a number of years. 2 men have been arrested and charged with murder, armed robbery and ‘pointing a firearm’. Mr Picton-Turbervill’s funeral was on thursday, with relatives travelling from the UK and Wales. His ashes will be scattered in the grounds of the 12th century Ewenny Prior, near Bridgend, where his father, Richard, and his stepmother, Ann, currently live.
