In the first seven months of 2007, over 438,000 deaths in Brazil were attributed to dengue fever, like yellow fever, a mosquito carried disease. The Brazilian government has confirmed the death of a man suffering from yellow fever. He died in hospital as literally thousands of people queued up for vaccinations. 349 cases have been reported over the last 12 years, with 161 cases resulting in death. The government is certain that there is no risk of an impending epidemic.
