Prostitutes In Trouble With Police?

Prostitutes face jail for up to 72 hours if they don’t attend 3 one hour counseling sessions. This could overwhelm prisons, community homes and police stations. It has been admitted that these sessions are ‘hardly going to help’ and that this is ‘one of a range of measures to tackle this issue by getting prostitutes out of the criminal justice system and into support and treatment”. The Bill will be debated in the House of Commons on the 9th January, 2008.
