Connie, the Russian Dog In a Million.

Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Sergey Ivanov, was proudly presenting the Russian President, Vladimir Putin with plans for launching three new navigation satellites. Proton-K, the Russian rocket is due to launch these satellites into orbit on 25th December, 2007, to facilitate Russia’s Glonass navigation system. This brings the total number of satellites up to 18 which map Russian territory. The plan is ultimately for 24 satellites. Mr Putin asked Mr Ivanov where he could get a similar system for his pet dog, Connie, so that she can’t wander too far astray.”
