Dana Deegan & Her Unborn Baby

What sort of family life are people leading where mum is able to hide her pregnancy from her husband and kids, give birth after having no medical assistance throughout the pregnancy, feed him, dress him, & pop him in a suitcase which is then left in a ditch on the fort Berthold Indian Reservation? Dana Deegan, 34, was partner with an alcoholic man, her father had cancer and her children were 1, 2 and 5 years old. Her and her partner were both unemployed. She was asked by Judge Daniel Hovland if her life was ‘overwhelmed with stress’, and her answer was yes. She is facing up to 18 years in prison and this baby’s death via starvation and dehydration has been described as ‘absolutely gut wrenching,’ by US Attorney, Drew Wrigley.
