One of the biggest upsets in college football history!
Well, if you haven’t already heard, there was a crazy game yesterday during the opening of college football. It was the game against the Appalachian State Mountaineers and Michigan Wolverines. Now, these two teams are not even in the same class of playing…..well supposedly! The wolverines were ready to just tear apart this team because of what they have heard and how big they think that they are. Well, they were extremely wrong. If you don’t know Appalachian State (from North Carolina) is the two time defending 1-AA (now FCS) national champions. They are not to be taken lightly, but Michigan tried to and it came back to bite them in the rear.
In the first two minutes of the game, Michigan scored and everyone thought that it was the start of a slaughter. Well Appalachian came back to score two minutes after that and people started to wonder. To make a long story short, Appalachian took the lead for th rest of the game with superior playing and tactics, but started to slip in the fourth quarter. Michigan came back to take the lead, but in the end they had two field goals blocked. Those blocked field goals were the winning plays for Appalachian. With a final score of 34-32, Appalachian made history in defeating college football’s winningest team in their own house. There is talk about how this is one of the biggest upsets in college football history and the small school in Boone, NC is the one to blame for it. Well, I always root for the underdog, so go Appalachian State Mountaineers!
