Heatwave continues in California

Submitted by blookman on August 30, 2007 – 11:57 amNo Comment

Triple digits leave all residents in California trying to find some place cool to spend their days. For the past 7 days, California has been up around 107, which is making it very hard to the power companies to keep up with the demand for electricity. I mean that is just hot, but I guess this type of weather might be the norm over in Arizona or New Mexico. According to some reports, there are many residents that do not have A/C because the power usage was too much and it cost a massive blackout across many California cities. It is not enough that the temperature is in the triple digits, but now that you do not have A/C to keep yourself cool, it just makes it miserable. The good thing is that come of the cities opened up cooling centers for people that lost power to go and get cool. There is no time frame for when the power will be turned back on for some of the residents, but temps are supposed to reach around 109 today in some parts of California. I just hope that everyone can get through the nasty heat wave!
