Beef Recall right before the Holiday Weekend
It looks like there has been a beef recall right before a great weekend of grilling. It appears to only be affecting the Pacific Northwest due to the brand, Northwest Finest. If you shop at Safeway, QFC, and Fred Meyer, then you need to check your beef to make sure that it is not contaminated. According to CNN reports, 9 people have already been affected, which has warranted the beef to be taken off the shelves.
The beef was sold in stores after the “sell-by date”, which has something to do with the contamination. Consumer are warned that they can kill the E-coli bacteria if they cook their meat at 160 degrees. This will ensure that you will not be contaminated by the bacteria. The people of the Pacific Northwest need to check the sell-by dates for any meat that they have purchased at the above named stores. Authorities have figured out that the beef has the expiration dates between August 1st and August 8th with UPC code label “752907 600127″.
